The current IB Diploma Physics course, first assessed in 2025, is organised into five themes: space, time and motion; the particulate nature of matter; wave behaviour; fields; and nuclear and quantum physics. At both levels, Paper 1 is worth 36%, Paper 2 44% and the scientific investigation (IA) 20%. HL covers extra content and has longer papers.
IB Physics is taught by Matteo Locatelli, who holds an MSc in Space Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and worked in the aeronautics sector before teaching. Lessons are online and 1-to-1 on Google Meet, with a shared whiteboard for equations and diagrams, and cover topic understanding, exam technique and IA preparation.
