What CIMA F2 covers
Advanced Financial Reporting (F2) is the Management level Financial paper. It covers financing capital projects, including sources of long-term finance and the cost of capital, more advanced IFRS accounting standards, preparing group financial statements, integrated reporting, and analysing financial statements to judge performance and position.
The F2 exam format
F2 is a 90-minute computer-based objective test, booked on demand at a test centre or taken online. Results are on a scale up to 150, and you need 100 to pass.
Where students lose marks
- Consolidation mechanics. Goodwill, non-controlling interest and intra-group adjustments need a reliable method.
- Complex standards. Financial instruments and other advanced standards reward clear understanding over memorised rules.
- Interpretation. Ratio questions often ask what a change means, not just how to calculate it.
The 2026 syllabus update
CIMA updated its syllabus in 2026. Objective tests follow the new content from January 2026. The exam format did not change.
How TutorPOD teaches F2
Classes are led by Paul William, founder of TutorPOD, who holds CIMA, ACCA and CA Singapore qualifications. F2 lessons build each standard and consolidation step by step, then practise objective test questions with real-time problem solving in class. You get structured notes and timed mocks with personalised feedback.
Classes run live online and in person in Singapore, in small groups or 1-to-1.
Management level papers
F2 builds on F1 Financial Reporting and sits alongside E2 Managing Performance and P2 Advanced Management Accounting. It leads to F3 Financial Strategy.
