What Singapore CA BG covers
Business Value, Governance and Risk (BG) is one of the four technical modules of the Singapore CA Qualification Professional Programme. It looks at how organisations create and measure value, corporate finance and investment decisions, business valuation, corporate governance, and how risk is identified and managed.
The BG exam format
BG is a 3 hour 15 minute e-examination with remote proctoring. It is case-based, with questions and sub-questions that need written responses, and you need 50% to pass. Exams are held in June and December.
Where candidates lose marks
- Valuation without judgement. A number alone is not enough. Explain its limits and what it means for the decision.
- General governance points. Tie each point to the company and people in the case.
- Unbalanced time. Long calculations can crowd out the discussion marks.
How TutorPOD teaches BG
Classes are led by Paul William, founder of TutorPOD, who holds the Singapore CA, ACCA and CIMA qualifications. Lessons combine finance techniques with case discussion, then build up to timed practice with personalised feedback on your answers.
Classes run live online and in person in Singapore, in small groups or 1-to-1.
Other Professional Programme modules
BG sits alongside Financial Reporting, Assurance and Taxation, leading to the Integrative Business Solutions capstone.
