What Singapore CA FR covers
Financial Reporting (FR) is one of the four technical modules of the Singapore CA Qualification Professional Programme run by ISCA. It tests the application of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International), SFRS(I), to realistic business situations: recognition and measurement, group accounting, judgement and estimates, and presentation and disclosure.
The FR exam format
FR is a 3 hour 15 minute e-examination with remote proctoring. It is case-based, with questions and sub-questions that need written responses, and you need 50% to pass. Exams are held in June and December.
Where candidates lose marks
- Stating the standard without applying it. Marks come from the accounting treatment for the facts in the case.
- Group accounting gaps. Consolidation adjustments and changes in ownership need a reliable method.
- Over-relying on open book. Searching your notes during the exam eats time you need for writing.
How TutorPOD teaches FR
Classes are led by Paul William, founder of TutorPOD, who holds the Singapore CA, ACCA and CIMA qualifications. Lessons work through each standard with case-style questions and real-time problem solving, then build up to timed practice with personalised feedback on your written answers.
Classes run live online and in person in Singapore, in small groups or 1-to-1.
Other Professional Programme modules
FR sits alongside Assurance, Taxation and Business Value, Governance and Risk. All four lead to the Integrative Business Solutions capstone.
