What Singapore CA Taxation covers
Taxation (TX) is one of the four technical modules of the Singapore CA Qualification Professional Programme. It covers Singapore corporate and individual income tax, goods and services tax (GST), international tax issues affecting Singapore businesses, and advising clients on tax-efficient courses of action within the law.
The Taxation exam format
Taxation is a 3 hour 15 minute e-examination with remote proctoring. It is case-based, with questions and sub-questions that need written responses and computations, and you need 50% to pass. Exams are held in June and December.
Where candidates lose marks
- Computations without explanation. Say why an item is taxable or deductible.
- No advice. When the case asks what the client should do, give a clear recommendation.
- Out-of-date rules. Keep up with recent Budget changes for the exam period.
How TutorPOD teaches Taxation
Classes are led by Paul William, founder of TutorPOD, who holds the Singapore CA, ACCA and CIMA qualifications. Lessons build clear computation formats, then practise case-based questions with real-time problem solving and personalised feedback on your answers.
Classes run live online and in person in Singapore, in small groups or 1-to-1.
Other Professional Programme modules
