What the IBS capstone tests
Integrative Business Solutions (IBS) is the capstone module of the Singapore CA Qualification Professional Programme. It brings together Financial Reporting, Assurance, Taxation, and Business Value, Governance and Risk in one business case. You analyse the situation as a chartered accountant would and present your findings and recommendations as professional reports.
The IBS exam format
IBS is a 4 hour 30 minute e-examination with remote proctoring. It is based on a case study with four elements, each needing a response in report format, and you need 50% to pass. You must complete the Ethics and Professionalism modules and all four technical modules first.
Where candidates lose marks
- Treating it as four separate exams. Strong answers link issues across reporting, audit, tax and risk.
- Weak report structure. Clear headings, a logical flow and firm recommendations make it easier to score.
- Running out of time. Four and a half hours goes quickly when each element is not planned.
How TutorPOD teaches IBS
Classes are led by Paul William, founder of TutorPOD, who holds the Singapore CA, ACCA and CIMA qualifications. Lessons practise case analysis and report writing, with timed mock exams and personalised feedback on every report.
Classes run live online and in person in Singapore, in small groups or 1-to-1.
